Farshad Goodarzi Boroojeni (Institute of Animal Nutrition, Department of Veterinary Medicine, Freie Universität Berlin) - Innovative processing technology of rapeseed products for poultry nutrition (ProRapeSeed) - Short Description: The majority of European protein needs are covered by the import of soy products. There is a growing environmental and ethical concern on the loss of ecologically rainforests or contamination with genetically modified plants. Therefore, domestic alternatives are urgently needed. From an environmental and economic point of view, rapeseed is of outstanding interest. The project uses 3 strategies in order to improve the feeding value of rapeseed and develop the bio-economy industry particularly though SMEs: Innovative selection and breeding strategy targeting oil and feed production, advanced (bio)technological processes, and optimized nutrition concepts, models will be broilers, layers and turkeys as relevant food producing animals. The project has 3 goals: Development of innovative molecular breeding tools for shortening the breeding cycle duration of rapeseed, development of specific enzymatic and biotechnological fermentation processes for the valorisation of rapeseed products, and full assessment of economic, ecological and social aspects of the products.

János Petrusán (IGV Institut für Getreideverarbeitung GmbH) - PPT not public - IGV GREENFOOD - Short Description: Our innovation service for Clean- and White-label products based on selected vegetal raw materials.
