On 15 June 2023 the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) is celebrating its annual Innovation Day for SMEs in Berlin. This popular open air event showcases the success of forward-thinking SMEs and their research partners as well as the effectiveness of BMWK’s wide range of innovation funding opportunities.

Around 300 exhibitors will present their R&D project results in the relaxed atmosphere at AiF Projekt GmbH’s extensive garden area, allowing for a fruitful and casual exchange of ideas and knowledge between entrepreneurs, scientists, politicians, representatives of various public authorities and funding agencies, and of course the general public.

This year, the exhibition will put a particular focus on topics such as sustainability and climate protection, digital transformation and health.

We are particularly excited to share that Canada will be this year’s guest country. The “International Area” will host a number of funded projects between Canadian and German SME partners, and the fair’s stage programme will include live talks and discussions with stakeholders from Canada highlighting the opportunities and advantages of transnational collaborations.

As in previous years, the IraSME and CORNET coordination teams will have their own booth on site and are looking forward to answering your questions regarding potential future R&D project submissions.

The extensive programme will be framed in advance by interactive webinars on all aspects of BMWK innovation funding and the offer of networking with potential business and research partners via a matchmaking platform (more detailed information and links available soon).
