NATIONAL PROGRAMME PORTRAIT
Aim of Programme
- Promoting science-based innovation
- Improving the innovative capacity and competitive position of economic entities including small and medium-sized enterprises (SME)
- Strengthening the capacity of companies to cooperate internationally
- Establishing systematic access to national and international know-how
Funding Conditions
The following funding criteria apply to Swiss partners in the consortium:
- Mandatory submission of an “IraSME Application Form” by e-mail to info@ira-sme.net and a national proposal via Innosuisse submission portal (including a consortium agreement draft and financial documents per implementation partner < 250 FTE)
- Minimum project consortium of 1 implementation partner from each partner country and 1 research entity from any of the participating countries
- All participants must comply with the funding rules of their home country
- Maximum 70% of the total Swiss project costs to be covered by Innosuisse
- Maximum funding per Swiss partner within a project is CHF 500,000 (applications exceeding this limit will not be considered)
- Funding rate for Swiss partners: start-ups and SMEs up to 50%, large companies up to 25%, research institutions up to 100% of total eligible costs (Swiss start-ups that have not yet entered the market and that only collaborate with foreign companies can receive up to 70%)
- Eligible costs:
- Personnel costs (salaries + employer’s contribution to social security)
- Material costs
- Costs for project-related contracts with third parties
- Coordination costs (management of the consortium)
- Travel costs (covers international visit to project partners)
- Project duration should be between 18 and 36 months

- Development of innovative products, solutions, processes or services
- Sound risk mitigation strategy
- Innovative content of the project
- Added-value of international cooperation
- Clear project plan and realistic timelines
